Harry Roque Claims ICC warrant vs Bato dela Rosa is Out โ€” But Offers no Proof

Former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque stirred the political pot on Sunday after claiming that the International Criminal Court (ICC) has already issued a warrant of arrest for Senator Ronald โ€œBatoโ€ dela Rosa โ€” a remark that immediately raised questions about his source and motives.

Roque made the claim on the same day he revealed he had written the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol), urging it to reject the Philippine governmentโ€™s request for a red notice against him.

โ€œSen. Bato, your warrant of arrest is out! Huwag ka pa-kidnap! Insist that you have the right to be brought before a Philippine court first!โ€ Roque posted on Facebook.

But the former Duterte-era official offered no proof. He did not disclose how he supposedly obtained the information, nor did he explain why he was confident enough to publicly declare that the ICC had already acted against the former police chief.

Roqueโ€™s post leaves more questions than answers.

If an ICC warrant truly exists, how did Roque โ€” now a private citizen and target of a government request for Interpol action โ€” get access to such sensitive information ahead of the Department of Justice or Malacaรฑang?

And if the claim is unverified, what does it mean when a former high-ranking government insider publicly announces an arrest warrant that neither the ICC nor Philippine authorities have confirmed?

The allegation adds another layer of intrigue to the already tense standoff between the ICC and the Philippine government over the courtโ€™s probe into the drug war killings.

Roqueโ€™s statement, for now, sits in a gray zone โ€” provocative, politically charged, and entirely unsupported by evidence.
