The search for American YouTuber Elliot Eastman, abducted over a month ago from a remote Philippine town, continues amid mounting challenges.ย Authorities remain hopeful that Eastman, who was kidnapped from his wifeโs home in Sibuco, Zamboanga del Norte, on October 17, is still alive.
Local media outlet Bilyonaryo News Channel, citing an anonymous source, reported on November 15 that rescue operations are ongoing.

The Night of the Abduction
According to reports, four armed men stormed Eastmanโs seaside home around 10 PM, pretending to be police officers.
Eastman, who was with his Muslim Filipina wife, Karisha Jala, resisted the attackers but was shot in the leg before being dragged away.
The kidnappers then fled in a speedboat, disappearing into the treacherous waters off Zamboanga del Norteโa region infamous for crime and insurgency.

Former Sibuco Mayor Norbideiri Edding speculated that Eastman was targeted because of his perceived wealth as a foreigner and possible resentment over his marriage to a local Muslim woman.
