IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay — Joint forces of the Philippine Army and the Philippine National Police arrested Wahabbin Bautista Abdulhari, a national-level most wanted fugitive facing multiple murder charges, in Barangay Tiayon, Ipil, on Friday, January 24, 2026.
Authorities apprehended Abdulhari at around 4:40 p.m. at Purok China Harbor during in a law enforcement operation led by the Ipil Municipal Police Station, with support from the 106th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army under the 102nd Infantry Brigade and other law enforcement and intelligence units.
Police identified Abdulhari as the National Level Top-2 Most Wanted Person, a provincial-level e-warrant subject, and Municipal Level Top-4 Most Wanted Person, with a total reward of ₱170,000 for his arrest. He is a resident of Barangay Datu, Tumanggong, Tungawan, Zamboanga Sibugay.
Authorities said Abdulhari is facing charges of multiple murder and multiple frustrated murder under Criminal Case Nos. I-9060 and I-9061, based on a warrant of arrest issued on November 8, 2022, by Judge Joel Gonzaga Vercide of the Regional Trial Court Branch 37 in Ipil.
The suspect, a former member of the now-dismantled Abdusalam Criminal Gang, was arrested without incident and is currently under police custody for proper legal proceedings.
Brigadier General Samuel G. Yunque commended the joint security forces for the successful operation, reiterating the Army’s commitment to sustaining peace and security in Zamboanga Sibugay. He also urged the public to remain vigilant and to report suspicious activities to authorities.
