DATU ODIN SINSUAT, Maguindanao del Norte โ Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) Chair and United Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP) head Ahod Balawag Ebrahim, along with Bangsamoro Chief Minister Abdulraof Macacua, expressed gratitude Tuesday night, May 13, to supporters of Datu Ali Midtimbang, who was proclaimed governor-elect of Maguindanao del Sur by the Commission on Elections following the May 12 polls.
Midtimbang was proclaimed Tuesday afternoon at a canvassing site inside Camp Siongco in Datu Odin Sinsuat, home of the Philippine Armyโs 6th Infantry Division headquarters.
His running mate, Ustadz Hisham Nando, was also elected. Both ran under the MILFโs regional political party, UBJP.
Midtimbang defeated incumbent Gov. Mariam Sangki Mangudadatu. Her husband, Suharto โTengโ Mangudadatu, ran for governor of Maguindanao del Norte but was trailing rival Tucao Mastura by a wide margin.
As of late Tuesday night, Mastura and his running mate, Marshall Sinsuat, were awaiting official proclamation as governor and vice governor-elect of Maguindanao del Norte, also under the UBJP banner.
