ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY, Philippines โ€” A local metals and engineering fabricator in Zamboanga Sibugay is ramping up its manufacturing capacity after receiving technology upgrading support from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), a move expected to benefit the provinceโ€™s growing construction sector.

Duque Roofing Center has secured funding assistance under DOSTโ€™s Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP), enabling the firm to modernize its production operations and improve the quality of its roofing products.

According to DOST, the support is aimed at strengthening the companyโ€™s production efficiency while ensuring more consistent and durable materials for customers across Zamboanga Sibugay and nearby areas.

The assistance allowed Duque Roofing Center to acquire advanced roll-forming equipment, including a decking roll-forming machine and a roller shutter roll-forming machine. These machines are expected to significantly cut production time, reduce material waste, and standardize product dimensions.

With the upgraded technology, the firm is better positioned to respond to increasing demand from the construction industry without compromising product quality, the agency said.
