Drones, Radiation Spikes, and the Threat of a Nuclear Nightmare

Americans are on high alert as a disturbing series sightings of drones coincides with alarming radiation spikes in the New York metropolitan area, sparking fears of a long-buried Cold War secret resurfacing.

This week, the Geiger Counter World Map registered radiation levels exceeding 200 counts-per-minute—the safety threshold—in two locations near New York City, with similar anomalies detected in neighboring Connecticut.

These findings have fueled speculation that the drones could be on a sinister mission: locating a missing nuclear warhead from the Cold War era.

Radiation Spikes

Gordon Chang, author of Plan Red: China’s Project to Destroy America, warns that these radiation surges are no coincidence.

“We’ve seen spikes on both sides of the Hudson River,” Chang told Forbes. “It’s leading some to conclude that someone’s hunting for a nuclear device that’s been secretly implanted.”

Chang’s book explores the chilling possibility of a Chinese-engineered surprise attack on U.S. soil. Drawing a line between the recent drone activity and the 2023 Chinese “spy balloon” crisis, he criticizes the federal government’s repeated failure to protect its citizens from potential foreign threats.

“We need the President to step up,” Chang insisted. “Americans deserve to know what’s happening—what the government knows and, crucially, what it doesn’t.”

The fear isn’t just hypothetical. For years, U.S. officials have worried about North Korea smuggling nuclear components into the country and assembling them in an undisclosed location. Chang believes this grim scenario is edging closer to reality.

“This isn’t wild speculation,” he cautioned. “The stakes are too high to dismiss these possibilities.”

There’s also the chance that these drones are operated by U.S. agencies, like Homeland Security or the FBI, in a frantic effort to locate potential threats before it’s too late.

Nuclear Nightmare

“If the risk is severe enough, the government may already be taking emergency action,” Chang noted. “But until we get clear information from the President, we have to assume the worst and prepare accordingly.”

The consequences of a dirty bomb or nuclear device detonating on American soil are nightmarish. Beyond the initial panic, such an event could cripple the government’s ability to respond and protect its people.

“Americans need to be ready,” Chang urged. “We should have enough food, water, and iodine pills. This isn’t a conversation we’ve had in decades—but maybe it’s time to start.”

Drones continue to buzz above and radiation levels spike below. The question remains: Is this a false alarm—or the prelude to a catastrophe? For now, the silence from leadership is deafening, and the clock is ticking.
