Kabacan, Cotabatoโ More than 100 boys from Muslim, Christian, and indigenous communities received free circumcision services in a one-day medical outreach led by Bangsamoro officials, drawing praise from local executives in Cotabato province.
The April 14 โOplan Tuliโ was spearheaded by Bangsamoro Parliament Member and Health Minister Kadil Sinolinding Jr., in coordination with Chief Minister Abdulrauf Macacua and the Ministry of Health of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
A total of 129 boys underwent the procedure at Deseret Surgimed Hospital, with beneficiaries coming from nearby Kidapawan City, the towns of Kabacan and Carmen, as well as Moro communities in the Special Geographic Area.
Local executives in Kabacan and Carmen, along with village officials, welcomed the outreach, noting that many of the beneficiaries came from underserved families. Cotabato Governor Emmylou Taliรฑo-Mendoza also expressed gratitude, calling the initiative a significant boost to public health services in the province.
โThat was a big group of boys, mostly from marginalized families. We canโt thank the people behind that outreach mission enough,โ Taliรฑo-Mendoza said.
Sinolinding said the initiative was made possible through the support of Macacua and the coordination of Muslim and Christian community leaders, underscoring a shared commitment to inclusive healthcare across Cotabatoโs diverse communities.
