Bangsamoro Officials Step Up to Guide Police Reforms

COTABATO CITY, Philippines โ€“ Three officials from the Bangsamoro government have joined the Regional Advisory Group for Police Transformation Development (RAGPTD).

Lawyers Al-Rashid Balt, director-general of the Ministry of Public Order and Safety, and Abdul Rashid Kalim, chairperson of the Bangsamoro Human Rights Commission, along with physician-ophthalmologist Kadil Sinolinding Jr., the regionโ€™s health minister, formally took their oath as new members during the groupโ€™s meeting at the Al-Nor Complex on Tuesday, April 7.

The oath-taking was led by RAGPTD president Ronald Hallid Dimacisil Torres and Police Brigadier General Jaysen De Guzman, director of the Police Regional Officeโ€“Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR).

Balt, Kalim, and Sinolindingโ€”who also serves as a member of the Bangsamoro Parliamentโ€”committed to support the groupโ€™s programs and initiatives promoting professionalism, community service, and humanitarian missions of the Philippine National Police (PNP) across BARMMโ€™s five provinces and three cities.

The RAGPTD-BARMM is a multi-sectoral body composed of representatives from the academe, media, religious communities (both Muslim and Christian), the business sector, and various Bangsamoro government agencies.
