COTABATO CITY, Philippines โ The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Tawi-Tawi has recognized the provincial team of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency โ Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-BARMM) for its intensified campaign against illegal drugs.
Vice Governor Al-syed Sali personally awarded a written citation to Abraham Kalim on Wednesday, April 1. Prior to this, the team also received a similar recognition during the provincial governmentโs symbolic โGabi ng Parangalโ (Night of Recognition) held in Bongao, the provinceโs capital, the night before.
According to provincial officials, the two separate commendations were given in appreciation of the โsignificant accomplishmentsโ of the PDEA-BARMM Tawi-Tawi team in conducting anti-narcotics operations over the past few months.
Also recognized was regional director Edgar Jubay, who has led efforts to strengthen the anti-drug campaign in the region.
In separate statements, Kalim and Jubay said a series of successful operations in various island municipalities in Tawi-Tawi led to the seizure of millions of pesos worth of shabu.
They also emphasized the importance of inter-agency coordination, citing the support of the office of Governor Ysmael Sali, various police units under the Police Regional OfficeโBangsamoro Autonomous Region, and the Western Mindanao Command led by Lieutenant General Donald Gumiran.
Officials said the recognition reflects the continued commitment of government agencies and local authorities to maintain peace and order in the province.
