ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY – The 1st Infantry Division (1ID) of the Philippine Army has implemented a leadership change in the 106th Infantry Battalion (106IB) based in the province.
Lieutenant Colonel Ezrael Oloan formally assumed command of the 106IB, succeeding Lieutenant Colonel Leo Christopher Cunanan, during a Change of Command Ceremony held on Tuesday, September 30, at the battalion headquarters in Lower Baluran, Imelda town.
Brigadier General Felix Ronnie Babac, assistant division commander of the 1st Infantry Division, presided over the ceremony, which was attended by local government executives, officials from the military, police, and coast guard.
In a statement, the 1ID said the Change of Command Ceremony—an enduring military tradition—symbolizes the smooth and orderly transfer of leadership within the ranks.
“It ensures operational continuity and reflects the organization’s deep commitment to professionalism, good governance, and the ongoing development of capable leaders in service of the nation and its people,” the division said.
