MANILA, Philippines – The Social Security System (SSS) has rolled out its new MySSS Card, an identification card that also works as a debit card for members’ transactions.
The MySSS Card will serve as the default disbursement account for members to receive their benefits, pensions, and loans. It partners with Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) through its digital arm DiskarTech
SSS said the card can also be used like a regular debit card—whether for shopping, online purchases, or paying transport fares. It comes equipped with an EMV chip, is integrated with the Philippine Identification System cVerify, and uses biometric authentication to enhance security and prevent forgery.
How to apply
Starting October 1, members can apply for the MySSS Card through the My.SSS portal. The process requires:
-
Logging in to the portal and selecting “MySSS Card” under Services.
-
Reviewing and updating personal details.
-
Giving consent for identity verification using the National ID system.
-
Completing a facial scan and choosing a partner bank (currently RCBC). Other banks like Asia United Bank, China Bank, and Union Bank will be added later.
-
Agreeing to share data with the bank.
-
Finalizing enrollment and completing verification through the bank’s app or branch.
Members can opt to have the card delivered for an additional fee or claim it at the partner bank. The release period is 15 working days in Metro Manila and 20 working days in provinces after account approval.
Default disbursement account
The MySSS Card will automatically be registered as the member’s main disbursement account for all SSS-related transactions.
The rollout is part of SSS’ push to modernize services and provide more convenient access to social protection programs for its members.
